Unconscious Bias and Search Committee Resources

Unconscious or implicit bias "refers to those attitudes and stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner" (The Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race & Ethnicity). These internalized biases can affect many areas of work within the Faculty of Medicine, including the admissions process, faculty hiring, peer review and patient care.
