Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy: COVID-19 information

Dear Colleagues and Students

The directive from the University of Toronto for the management of COVID-19 is ever changing and we are doing our best to keep you posted on new developments.

As per the message on the University of Toronto website:

The best way to protect yourself is through prevention.

• Wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
• Sneeze and cough into your sleeve
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
• Avoid contact with people who are sick
• Stay home if you are sick

The following message has been posted on the Faculty of Medicine Website regarding COVID-19 and clinical learners:  https://medicine.utoronto.ca/restricted-duties-and-local-placements-faculty-medicine-clinical-learners. Clinical learners are defined as any U of T learner who is going into any health care setting where patients are being treated – including but not limited to private clinics and offices for rehab professionals.

At this point we are supporting you all to attend your fieldwork in April and ask you to monitor yourself appropriately. While international fieldwork is cancelled, we are making alternate local arrangements.
