MD Electives Information for 2021

Dear Colleagues,

As we are now faced with the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the MD Program at the University of Toronto has made the difficult decision to suspend all electives programs for visiting international students for 2021

In addition, the Canadian visiting electives program has also been cancelled nationally at least until July 2021.

We regret the disappointment this will cause but have made this decision in the interest of public and patient safety.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you informed of any changes to the program as they arise.

We also wish to inform you that the MD Program Class of 2022 will be provided access to U of T, home school electives registration as of January 2021 for their fall electives.  Please be reminded that students should not be permitted to pre-book electives at your site prior to the opening of the registration system in January 2021. This is to ensure a fair and transparent process.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Seetha Radhakrishnan, Director, Electives and Course Co-Director Transition to Residency (Selectives).

Sincerely,
