Teaching for Transformation: Summer Education Institute (SEI) program

Jun 9 – 11, 2020

Summer Education Institute (SEI), an annual 3 day faculty development program that focuses on critical pedagogy and transformative approaches to education because how we teach is just as important as what we teach.

SEI brings together health professions teachers/educators, clinicians, administrators, leaders, scholars, and others who are dedicated to preparing health professionals for complex roles (e.g. as collaborators, professionals, and advocates) while attending to compassionate, equitable, and person-centered care orientations.

The program uses a combination of dialogic, narrative, and arts-based approaches to education. Successful examples of critical approaches in health professions education will be shared and a blend of theory and practice lessons will inspire reflection and action.
