Healthy Ageing 101: Providing Care to Older Black Adults – The Ubuntu Village Program

Hosted by Geriatrics Continuing Education program in partnership with Human Rights & Health Equity. Liben Gebremikael, Executive Director, TAIBU Community Health Centre will discuss the Ubuntu Community Village, a program developed by TAIBU that helps support the overall well-being of racialized populations.

The session will feature:

· An explanation of the Ubuntu Village model, how it was developed and the service gaps it fills

· A discussion of the impact of the Ubuntu model

· A discussion of how the model promotes improved health outcomes for racialized older adults

· A discussion of what care providers can learn from the Ubuntu model to improve the care of racialized older adults
