Helping Children with Hearing Disorders or Autism Overcome Communication Barriers

In honour of Speech and Hearing awareness month one of two public information sessions will be held on May 4th exploring the role that Speech-Language Pathologists (S-LP) play in helping children with hearing loss or with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) overcome communication barriers. Topics of interest include: paediatric hearing disorders and their impact on language development, cochlear implant programs and an S-LPs experience working with a patient with ASD. This session is organized by the Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (OSLA) in partnership with the Department of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.
