Frontiers in Translational Research: Ex-vivo Models of Human Disease

The symposium "Frontiers in Translational Research: Ex-vivo Models of Human Disease" will explore this rapidly evolving field focused on developing clinically relevant models for drug testing that are more predictive of clinical outcome. There will be an emphasis on cancer models to better understand cancer phenotypes.

Topics include tumour organoids, Organ-on-a-Chip, the role of the microenvironment, hypoxia and extracellular matrix, cancer stem cells, immune cell- tissue interactions and models, ex-vivo models for drug discovery, and bio-engineering solutions for ex-vivo models.

The symposium will include a poster session. Abstract submission closes August 15th: http://www.thesgc.org/exvivodiseasemodels-symposium/posters

Early-bird rate for registration is available until August 15th.

Sponsored by: The Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC), Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PMCC), Centre for Collaborative Drug Research (CCDR), Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at the University of Toronto, and the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR).
