Beyond the Lancet: Conference on Surgical Technology and Applications to Disease

Beyond the Lancet: Conference on Surgical Technology and Applications to Disease is a one-day conference that will spotlight exciting innovations in surgical biotechnologies, and their role in treating disease.

Throughout its history, surgical procedures have evolved along with our understanding of the human body, and the surgical tools used in these vital procedures have become more advanced accordingly. Today, more than 234 million surgeries are performed every year worldwide. Recent breakthroughs in surgical biotechnologies promise to deliver on more efficient and minimally invasive interventions.

This conference will explore four major themes involved in surgery: robotics, imaging, reconstruction, and transplantation. Featuring high-profile speakers, this is the perfect platform to discover the tools and techniques at the modern frontier of surgery.

This is the fifth annual conference organized by the Laboratory Medicine & Pathobiology Student Union (LMPSU).
