2016 Ontario-China Research and Innovation Fund (OCRIF) presents: Ontario-China Biomaterial Workshop

Invitation to participate in the Ontario-China Biomaterial Workshop is extended to all academic researchers and industry representatives from both Ontario and China hosted by the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation in partnership with the Consulate General of China in Toronto.

Objective: The objective of the workshop is to bring together key academia and industry representatives from both Ontario and China in the biomaterial field to: 

  1. Discuss collaborative opportunities from both Ontario and China
  2. Identify the complementary strengths between the two jurisdictions
  3. Evaluate the interest and feasibility of biomaterials as an area of focus for the 2016 Ontario-China Research and Innovation Fund (OCRIF) program
  4. Discuss how to strengthen R&D and commercialization collaborations, and
  5. Promote academia and industry partnership development

Ontario Participants:

Up to 60 seats have been reserved for Ontario representatives from universities, research institutes, technology companies, technology transfer/commercialization offices, venture capital firms, and innovation partners.

Ontario participants can register as an attendee or speaker. Please contact Lucy Su at: Lucy.Su@ontario.ca to discuss topics if you would like to speak at the event.

Please also feel free to pass this invitation to your academic or industrial partners who might benefit from the workshop as well.

Chinese Delegates:

To date, a total of 19 delegates (both academia and industry) from China have expressed interest in attending the workshop.  A list of the Chinese delegates and their areas of interest to collaborate with Ontario can be obtained from the Innovations and Partnerships Office at innovations.partnerships@utoronto.ca.

You are encouraged to contact delegates before the workshop to initiate discussions, or to arrange meetings and site visits during their visit.
